Shire believes that the costs associated with rare disease treatments should not be a barrier to patient access. In 2011, Shire was able to help over 50% of VPRIV patients in the United States with their copay expenses and we are pleased to announce enhancements to the program for 2012.
In 2012, Shire will assist eligible* patients in the United States who have commercial insurance with their Shire enzyme replacement therapy co-pay expenses, including co-insurance and deductibles, regardless of financial status.
Shire intends to cover eligible individuals’ co-pay expenses, including co-insurance and deductibles, at 100% in 2012.
